A strong advocate for the support of industry apprenticeship programs and the need for wider understanding and collaboration on the impacts of the phase down of HFC’s. Matthew is Chair of the New Zealand industry companies association, and was chair of the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning Companies Association prior to that. Trade qualified, Matthew is Managing Director and owner of EcoChill, a national commercial and industrial refrigeration company specialising in natural refrigerants, as well as an international speaker. Matthew's focus is on delivering highly efficient and sustainable systems and advising companies how to use refrigeration for competitive advantage. Understanding the implications of global legislative change, EcoChill’s focus has seen them lead delivery of many New Zealand firsts, including NZ’s first Transcritical CO2 system, and seen EcoChill become trusted advisors to key New Zealand companies such as Ceres, Foodstuffs, FreshMax, Roche and Turners & Growers.
