John Prall and Jeff Bauman talked about the performance of the EMC Compressor that significantly reduces energy consumption, resulting in a more sustainable, flexible and cost efficient refrigeration solution for light commercial applications.
John Prall
John Prall studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 2012, Prall accepted his current position with Embraco, working as a Technical Support Engineer for the United States and Canada. At Embraco, Prall’s responsibilities include providing engineering technical support for commercial and aftermarket customers, including assisting customers with the selection and application of hermetic compressors. Prall also trains customers on compressor technology and market trends through customer visits, trade show presentations and webinar activities. Prall has over 14 years of experience in the commercial refrigeration industry. Prior to his role at Embraco, he held several different roles ranging from engineering to product management at Hussmann Corporation.
Jeff Bauman
Jeff Bauman has over 30 years of experience in the design, manufacturing and technical support of commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment. He studied Mechanical Engineering and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jeff began his working career as a product designer for a custom kitchen equipment fabricator. He went on to work for Husmann Corporation and Victory Refrigeration, before joining Continental Refrigerator in 2008.
Jeff holds two US design patents and is a member of ASHRAE and AHRI, with positions on several technical committees, and is a member of the NAFEM Technical Liaison Committee. Jeff also served as an active member on the Department of Energy (DOE) Working Group, which negotiated rulemaking on certification and enforcement for Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration Equipment. Jeff worked with governmental agencies and certification bodies on the development and compliance of equipment standards and regulations.
