Federica Moricci from ISPRA presented the findings of an ISPRA study into the availability of and obstacles to wider uptake of natural refrigerant technologies as alternatives to HFCs in Italy.

Federica works as environmental engineer at the National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA). She deals with emissions into the atmosphere of greenhouse gases: preparation of the National Inventory of emissions into the atmosphere of GHG according to the Framework Convention on Climate Change and Kyoto Protocol, with particular reference to F-gas emissions; long-term emission scenarios of F-gas, impact studies of mitigation measures, following the ratification of the Doha Amendment to the Kyoto Protocol.

Federica has been involved in a project with the Ministry of the Environment on the study of alternatives to hydrofluorocarbons in Italy in different sectors (refrigeration, air conditioning, fire prevention, foam and aerosol).
