Javier Atencia Escudero from TEWIS presented a case study comparing three integrated HVAC&R systems installed in supermarkets in Spain, two based on CO2 and one based on R404A. CO2 was the most energy-efficient solution by 15% and 19% respectively.

Javier Atencia Escudero has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, specialising in the research of solutions and specific control systems for refrigeration applications, air conditioning and energy recovery. He currently coordinates and directs the Tewis engineers’ team, developing projects both nationally and internationally, and creating strategic plans for energy efficiency. During his professional career he has attended and presented at different conferences and training sessions on air conditioning and refrigeration, with a focus on eco-efficient solutions in commercial and industrial buildings.
