Andy Pearson of the IoR discusses the development of refrigeration over the last 20 years, the uncertainties associated with the possible HFC phase-down schedule and its relationship to the phase-out of other greenhouse gasses. Examples using CO2 and hydrocarbons demonstrate the profit-opportunities for natural refrigerants, led by Europe, as he examines the role legislation will play in the future.
