Anthony Bour describes Thermo King's CryoTech technology using liquid CO₂ (R744) in an innovative open-loop system, delivering refrigeration, significant reduction in emissions and improved performance over conventional diesel-powered units. The recovered R744 used for cooling is obtained as a by-product from industrial processes that would otherwise have been released into the atmosphere. As such, there are no new carbon dioxide emissions during operation of the CryoTech system. Thermo King CryoTech is a mature technology, with near 1000 units on the European roads. Delhaize Belgium was the first retailer in Belgium to start Sustainable Delivery operations with CryoTech Temperature Controlled Solutions.

Anthony Bour is and industrial engineer with a Master in Logistics and with 10 years of experience from various industries and roles such as Quality Manager in aeronautics, Project Manager in Power Transformer and Product Expert in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning equipment. Today Bour is responsible for the CryoTech portfolio in Europe at Thermo King, ensuring the development of the product and CO2 filling infrastructure in line with the market needs.
