In his presentation, Venugopal Kandi of Emerson Climate Technologies discussed the viability of hydrocarbons refrigerants in commercial refrigeration applications and the number of components available for such applications, such as the ATEX certified fully hermetic R290 scroll compressor. Kandi also highlighted barriers still to be overcome in order to realise the full potential of hydrocarbons in commercial refrigeration applications.

He is currently working as a Product Manager in Refrigeration Marketing at Emerson Climate Technologies, based in the headquarters in Aachen, Germany. Kandi holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
