Antoine Azar, Global Program Director of The Coca-Cola Company, presented Refrigerants, Naturally! initiative's achievement:  Putting in place over 3.5 million HFC-free refrigeration units worldwide. The company has currently 1.4 million HFC free units, representing an improvement of 20% compared to 2013. Among those models, 230 are employing CO₂, which are perfectly designed for bigger cooling equipment and 78% more energy efficient than HFC versions. For very small applications Coca-Cola has developed the thermoelectric cooler.

Antoine Azar

 

Antoine graduated from the University of Liège in Belgium, with a Master's degree in electro-mechanical & energy engineering. Antoine worked at the Coca-Cola Company for 16 years. Between July 2011 - December 2016 he held the position of global program director of Coca-Cola’s sustainable refrigeration program. Prior to that, Antoine performed as the maintenance manager and worked in various departments including engineering, design and innovation, quality control and telecommunication.
