The new EU F-Gas Regulation, expected to be published just before ATMOsphere Europe 2012, will be a hot topic during the two-day event. Also on the programme, high-level end users like Coca Cola, Red Bull, Carrefour, Sainsbury's and many more will discuss latest developments and showcase their CO2 bottle coolers. Technology case studies and innovation presentations on CO2 systems for warm climates for example, CO2 in transport refrigeration or heat recovery opportunities, complete this year’s programme.

Over 100 organisations from across Europe have already registered to discuss “Natural Refrigerants - Solutions for Europe” at the ATMOsphere Europe 2012 conference taking place from 6-7 November in Brussels.

With the new F-Gas proposal likely to come out shortly before the conference, high-level speakers from the European Commission will share the latest developments and first possible insights of the new proposal.

Other speakers like national experts from Germany, Denmark and Switzerland will also share their expectations of and possible first reactions to the proposal that could be a game changer for the natural refrigerant industry. The discussion will then continued in the afternoon, when key stakeholders, like the NGOs (EIA, EEB), industry associations (EPEE, EHPA) and researchers (Öko-Recherche, Re-phridge) present and debate the topic from their point of view.

With PepsiCo having installed over 147,000 HFC-free units globally by the end of 2011 and Coca-Cola over 600,000 HFC-free units in over 76 countries, the prominent consumer brands will discuss results of the equipment in use as well as future plans during a second end-user panel. The Coca-Cola Company, Unilever and McDonald's launched, in 2004, the ‘Refrigerants, Naturally!’ initiative.

Later joined by PepsiCo and Red Bull, the successful initiative will get a dedicated session at ATMOsphere Europe 2012. Representatives from Coca-Cola, Unilever and Red Bull, together with UNEP and Greenpeace, will discuss latest developments, and conference participants will be able to test how the CO2 and hydrocarbon equipment work first hand as several cabinets will be showcased and in use on site.

European supermarket increase implementation of CO2 systems

The second end user panel, focused on food retail, promises to be very exciting with a long list of retailers from all across Europe presenting their latest projects and future plans as regards natural refrigerant system roll-outs. Robert Arthur who recently retired from Marks & Spencer will be moderating and challenging the panellists with targeted questions. Overview of the panel:
