Danish company Danfoss and its affiliate in China has confirmed its sponsorship of the first ever ATMOsphere Network Shanghai. Danfoss, a specialist in manufacturing components and controls for the refrigeration & air conditioning, heating & water and motion controls industries, will play a leading role at the meeting to take place on 7 April, 2015.

Since 1933, Danfoss has become a leader in the manufacturing of components and controls in more than 100 countries, with distribution & manufacturing and sales centres in Asia, Europe, America and Africa.

Its products and services are used in areas such as refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, motor control and mobile machinery. Specifically, Danfoss’ Refrigeration and Air Conditioning division specialises in automatic controls, valves, compressors and electronic sensors. Committed to developing highly efficient climate-friendly solutions, the company offers a wide range of products that use CO2, ammonia and hydrocarbons as refrigerants.

Danfoss CO2 & ammonia solutions for industrial applications

With over 15 years experience in industrial refrigeration applications, Danfoss now specialises in the development of components for subcritical CO2 systems, offering a complete range of valves for those applications, including control valves, line components, complete valve stations, filter-driers as well as temperature, pressure, level & gas detector sensors. Its product portfolio includes its new high-pressure sensor, the MBS 8250, which is specifically designed for use in hydraulic applications with severe media influences like cavitation, liquid hammer or pressure peaks, and offers a reliable pressure measurement, even under the harshest environmental conditions. Other products include Danfoss’ AKS 4100 / AKS 4100U liquid level sensors, which help to measure refrigerant liquid levels in a wide range of refrigeration applications such as vessels, accumulators, receivers and standpipes etc.

The company has also developed a number of tools that facilitate the design process of CO2 systems such as the Coolselector ®2 software, new Danfoss calculation and selection software designed to make selection processes for all refrigeration projects easier and less time consuming. Additional tools also include application guides and a comprehensive set of technical leaflets and instructions.

Designed for ammonia, Danfoss’ products include manual, mechanic and electric valves. The SVL FlexlineTM, its new range of line components for industrial refrigeration, is based on the successful modular platform concept from the ICF and ICV valves in the FlexlineTM family. The main advantages of the SVL FlexlineTM are:
  • Easy and timesaving switch between the functions thanks to one common housing
  • Based on common housing (angle or straightway) the inserts offer five different functions: stop, regulating, stop/check, check and filter
  • All five function modules have the same high specification making selection, system design and mounting simple and trouble free
  • Shared spare parts and modular design reduce complexity and stocking costs while allowing for fast and easy service
  • Also suitable for sub-critical CO2 and heat pump systems
Danfoss’ activities in China

Danfoss opened its first office in Hong Kong in May, 1994, and followed this with the construction of dual headquarters in China (Beijng 1994 and Tianjin 1995). The company has continued to grow in China and has currently over 2,500 employees, ten sale offices, five factories and one subsidiary factory.

Thanks to the increased attention on natural refrigerants such as CO2 and ammonia for large-scale industrial refrigeration applications, Danfoss technology has been applied in a wide variety of applications including ski halls, food processing and cold storages.

ATMOsphere Network Shanghai
Shanghai Marriott Hotel Pudong East, Shanghai, China, April 7, 2015.

The first ATMOsphere Network Shanghai event will be organised in partnership with China Refrigeration. The meeting will provide a unique opportunity to learn more about the latest natural refrigerant trends in China and to get an exclusive sneak peak at the upcoming GUIDE China. In addition, several leading companies will present their latest projects employing natural refrigerants.
