Case studies from Embraco, Emerson, EPTA, Mayekawa and Panasonic will be presented at ATMOsphere Asia 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The ATMOsphere Review Panel is pleased to announce the first round of case study selections for ATMOsphere Asia 2017 on 6 September in Bangkok.

Embraco, Emerson, EPTA, Mayekawa and Panasonic will discuss their innovative natural refrigerant-based technologies at the conference.

The presentations are:

Embraco | Variable capacity technology applied to light commercial appliances using natural refrigerants: Best option for fast growing economies

This paper will present the results of tests performed with varied models and applications using R600a and R290 refrigerants.  Because of the use of hydrocarbons and thermodynamic property benefits, significant improvements are evident. Specifically Embraco’s new developments on the range expansion of Fullmotion, like new FMX range and bivolt 1kW inverter will likely benefit the light commercial refrigeration segment. Comparative testing using Embraco Fullmotion compressors in some commercial applications as well as the economical and environmental benefits are included in this presentation.

Emerson | Emerson's natural refrigerant-based solutions for developing markets in Asia by Abel Gnanakumar

In this presentation, Mr. Gnanakumar will showcase how the company supported a new end user building and commission a store using subcritical CO2 technology in China. The presentation will showcase how this model can be used in 'less experienced' and newly developing markets in Asia. The company will also talk about its other natural refrigerant-based installations like its ice plants in Thailand using Ammonia and hydrocarbon testings in China.

EPTA | CO2 FTE transcritical technology performance vs previous solutions in real store conditions by Francesco Mastrapasqua

This case study will present an in-depth analysis of the energy efficiency and operational benefits of CO2 transcritical FTE system in very warm ambient conditions, with best in class examples. Extensive data will be presented to reason for increased usage of CO2 refrigeration systems in any climatic condition and any store format, combining installation and operational costs, life cycle costs, energy saving and reliability, a significant contribution to make CO2 natural refrigerant the new technological standard in Asia.

Mayekawa | Latest NH3 and CO2 technology in industrial sectors in Japan and South East Asia by Kosuke Yamamoto

This presentation will include two case studies. First case study will present a great potential of COheat pump systems for food and beverage sectors which reduces electricity usage and CO2 emissions by lowering fuel consumption of boilers. The second case study will talk about a new NH3/CO2 circulation system, proven to be one of the most efficient refrigeration systems in Japan for industrial cold stores, and showcase real energy consumption date to prove its efficiency and other advantages. Mr. Yamamoto will present case studies from Japan and talk about first installations in Thailand.

Panasonic | CO2 refrigeration system – case studies from Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan by Hidekazu Tachibana

This presentation will introduce Panasonic CO2 refrigeration systems in supermarket & convenience stores in Southeast Asia and Japan. Mr. Tachibana will talk about the company's latest CO2 technology, its feasibility and energy efficiency results in the region. Also showcased in detail will be the company's first and very recent CO2 installation in supermarket in Malaysia.
