With the growing demand for natural refrigerants systems and components in North America, as well as the new regulations and market developments expected over the coming weeks and months, we believe that the time is right to bring the ATMOsphere Workshop on Natural Refrigerants to North America. Anyone eager to learn about the business case for natural refrigerants, including the latest developments in technology, policy and market developments is therefore kindly invited to attend ATMOsphere America.

Save the date: June 12-13 in Washington DC

Registration will open next week, with a special Christmas early bird for the month of December.

Our intention is to make ATMOsphere America THE annual meeting place for industry experts to discuss natural refrigerant trends, latest technologies and regulatory issues in North America.

The 2012 edition will have as its main theme "The Business Case for Natural Refrigerants in North America". We expect between 180 and 200 experts to attend. This will include decision makers from leading retailers, suppliers, associations and more. This two-day event will be split into several sessions. The main highlights will be:
  • 2 End User Panels bringing together 10 retailers and consumer brands to share their experiences with natural refrigerants in North America
  • 2 Technology Case Study Sessions bringing together 8 leading companies to present their latest natural refrigerant technologies (within commercial & industrial refrigeration, heat pumps and air-conditioning) - a call for case studies will be announced early next year.
  • State of the Industry Session bringing together experts to discuss latest market trends for natural refrigerants in North America
  • Regulatory Issues Session with presentations about SNAP, UL standards, DoE standards, the Montreal Protocol and more
  • A Workshop to discuss barriers and solutions to bring natural refrigerants faster to North America
  • Gala Dinner with guest speakers
  • … and more

ATMOsphere America 2012 is very timely with several SNAP approvals for hydrocarbon applications expected to be approved shortly. In addition, the recent announcement of the acquisition of Danish company Advansor by American company Hill PHOENIX is expected to provide a boost for CO2 transcritical refrigeration in North America.

Hill Phoenix, Mayekawa, Dorin, Linde, EcoThermics and Parker/Sporlan confirmed Sponsors

We are very proud to announce the first sponsors of ATMOsphere America 2012:

Hill PHOENIX - Platinum Sponsor: As the leading US manufacturer of CO2 systems, Hill PHOENIX is supporting the ATMOsphere mission as Platinum Sponsor. In 2009, it was the first manufacturer to receive SNAP (Significant New Alternatives Policy) approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to use CO2 as a replacement for HCFCs in retail refrigeration. In 2011, the US-based manufacturer marked the installation of its 50th CO2 refrigeration system.
Mayekawa - Gold Sponsor: As one of the most advanced companies in natural refrigerant technologies, Mayekawa is supporting ATMOsphere America to actively promote “the Natural Five” refrigerants CO2, ammonia, hydrocarbons, water and air for air conditioning, freezing and cold storage. After sponsoring all 3 ATMOsphere Europe events, we are very glad to also have them onboard for our North America kick-off workshop.
Dorin - Bronze Sponsor: The high-quality compressor manufacturer Dorin is actively supporting the mission of bringing natural refrigerants faster to North America.
Linde - Bronze Sponsor: The Linde Group, a world leading gases and engineering company, has decided to become a bronze sponsor at ATMOsphere America 2012.
EcoThermics - Bronze Sponsor: Providing green CO2 component solutions for next generation heat pumps, EcoThermics is also sponsoring the event.
Parker/Sporlan - Bronze Sponsor: We welcome Parker and its Sporlan division, the innovative provider of components and complete systems suitable for natural refrigerants.
