This presentation explored the combined use of scroll and semi-hermetic technology to enhance CO₂ booster systems. Studies have shown that no special engineering is required to mix the compressor technologies in building a booster pack, with the added benefit that scrolls offer ease of modulation and ensure that the overall system is more cost-effective.

In 2000, Abel Gnanakumar joined Emerson Climate Technologies' Asian head quarters as the Manager of the Hong Kong engineering center, where he led several engineering research and development projects in the advancements of HVAC systems, compressor testing and development. In 2007, he took the position of Director of the Refrigeration Marketing (Asia) before becoming Vice President of Refrigeration (Asia) in 2015.
