John Austin-Davies



Marketing Project Director, Epta Group

John is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Refrigeration, and takes legal responsibility as Trustee of the Institute. He is the Chairman of the Institute of Refrigeration led Trailblazer Apprenticeship programme and has held other senior Industry positions, including President of the British Refrigeration Association and Chairman of FETA.

Following a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Wales in Swansea, and training at Prestcold Ltd (now Emerson), John joined George Barker (acquired by Epta in 1999) in a technical capacity, taking responsibility for Epta U.K. Research & Development, the Design and Build business, Service, and latterly as Epta U.K. Commercial Director.

After previous Epta Group roles, including leadership of the CO2 Competence Team during early development of Natural Refrigerant technology, he is currently the Marketing Project Director for the Epta Group, whilst also maintaining a UK responsibility as Director of Epta legal entities in the UK.

With more than 21 years’ in Eliwell, Mauro covers marketing roles since the 2001 merging his experience in monitoring systems and connectivity with a vision for sustainable and future proof solutions to answer the more and more demanding requirements from the refrigeration industry. He delivered solutions from Environmentally Optimized controllers to Televis Systems evolution leveraging on state-of-the-art technology and open protocols. Since the acquisition of Eliwell in 2014, Mauro is coordinating the IT-OT convergence and promoting the integration of all refrigeration solutions into Schneider Electric EcoStruxure architecture.

Alvaro de Oña



Chief Operating Officer and Head of Media, shecco

Alvaro is a shareholder and co-founder of shecco as an independent entity. He was instrumental in the early success of shecco’s communication platforms (R744.com, hydrocarbons21.com, ammonia21.com) and market research services. With a background in social sciences and international relations, he has spent the last six years working at the European Commission as an Human Resources expert, overseeing several change projects and helping to set up two new Agencies of the EU from scratch. As of March 2016, Alvaro is back at shecco to help its further international development and lead the media team in its efforts to share relevant stories, news and updates on the global transition towards natural refrigerants.

Peijian Du

Mr. Peijian Du is a senior engineer with extensive experience in the field of heat and refrigeration with CO2 applications. The current chairman and general manager of Kunming Dongqi Science &Technology Co., Ltd. In 2008, the research and application of heat and refrigeration technology based on CO2 was launched ans since then Mr. Peijian Du has published 8 papers and more than 20 patents in the research field of CO2 heat pump technology. The CO2 heat pump technology developed by the team has won the first prize in Yunnan Kunming science and technology progress.

Guy Evon Cloutier

Guy Evon Cloutier is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of CTC Group, headquartered in Hong Kong, with offices in Montreal, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore, serving as a strategic partner of several leading brands in the field of ice and snow applications,  technologies and refrigeration. Mr. Cloutier has 36 years of design and engineering, projects management, business development, senior management and strategic corporate advising experience as a world expert in the field of winter sports and entertainment.

Mr. Cloutier Graduated in 1982 in with a degree in Building Services EEngineering, with post-graduate degree in Business Management, and has attended Advanced Management Program at the Executive Institute of McGill University in Montreal and Continuous Executive Development Program at Toromont’s Senior Management Academy.

Starting in 1985, Mr. Cloutier held several senior positions at CIMCO in Canada, including the presidency of Toromont Industries Quebec Inc. From 2002 until 2008, Mr. Cloutier was acting as the Vice President and General Manager for responsible for international business at CIMCO, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of its Chinese subsidiary, during which time he oversaw the strategies, markets development, startup and management of the company’s International offices and operations, in China, Russia, Switzerland, Africa and MENA countries.  

He is a former Director and Member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Chair of the China  Business Committee. Mr. Cloutier is a member of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) and member of the International Committee, as well as Regional Vice-Chairman, China and  Asian Countries, former Vice-Chairman and board member of the Canada China Business Council (CCBC) in Beijing for China, and an active member and senior advisor of the China Association of Refrigeration (CAR), and the Cancham in Shanghai.

Torben Funder-Kristensen



Head of Public and Industry Affairs, Danfoss

Torben Funder-Kristensen has a Master degree in Engineering (physics) and he received his Ph.D. in 1994 from the Technical University of Denmark (laser processing). Since 1995, Torben has been with Danfoss in Denmark holding various positions from consultancy within materials science and manufacturing processing to product development of controls components. He has been the Vice President of Product Development and from 2011 the head of Public Industry Affairs for refrigeration and air conditioning controls. He is a member of several internal and external boards and working groups within the industry.

Qiang Gao



R&D Director, Sanhua Microchannel

Qiang Gao is a specialist in the field of heat transfer, with over 13 years experience in the heat exchangers. He graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University and got PhD in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics.

Qiang is the major drafter of Chinese industrial standard of micro channel heat exchanger JB/T 11967 — 2014, and one of the drafters of Technology Development Report of Chinese HVAC Industry. Qiang is now also deputy director member of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology and Information Committee.

Qiang worked for the shell & tube, and the fin & tube heat exchanger during the Postdoc in Guandong Jirong, and worked for automotive heat exchanger in Delphi. Since 2009, Qiang works for Sanhua on the micro channel heat exchanger for almost 9 years, devoting great effort on the realization of green environment by applying the microchannel heat exchanger.

Qiang leads the research and development activities of Sanhua micro channel heat exchanger (sanhuamc®), launched first micro channel evaporator and heat pump in the HVAC market.

Vicente Guilabert



R&D and Technology Director, Huayi Compressor Barcelona, S.L

Vicente Guilabert is currently the Vice General Manager leading R&D and Quality at Huayi Compressor Barcelona, S.L. He has an Industrial Engineer degree from the “Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya” and a PDD from the IESE Business School. He has made an extensive professional career within the HVAC&R sector. Mr. Guilabert is currently the head of the R&D team at Huayi Compressor Group for light commercial refrigeration compressors. He has an outstanding knowledge of the hermetic compressor technologies, combined with great expertise in light commercial refrigeration market trends. He has also participated as a speaker in international conferences.

Before joining Huayi Compressor Barcelona 15 years ago, he worked for Hitachi Air Conditioning for 5 years as the Technical Customer Service Centre Manager. His responsibilities were linked to the technical assistance of customers worldwide.

Xiaohua Guo



Executive Vice President, Shandong Meijia Group

Xiaohua Guo is a senior engineer in the food processing engineering department of the Shandong Meijia Group Co. Ltd., where she is responsible for company planning and development, quality management.

In 2006, she won the title of "Top Ten Outstanding Young entrepreneurs" in Rizhao City. She became Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee for Building of Commercial College for Marketing and Enterprise Management of Rizhao Polytechnic in 2010. She is also a guidance teacher of the off-campus practical training of the Ocean Engineering College of Rizhao Polytechnic.

Previously, she has held several high-level positions such as the Vice President of Rizhao Import and Export Industry Association, Vice President of Branch Association of Turbot of China Aquatic Circulation and Processing Association, the Head of Rizhao Comprehensive Test Station of National Flounder Industry Technology System, and she was voted as the Secretary-General by the Alliance of Shandong Peninsula Blue Economic Zone marine aquatic products intensive processing industry. 

Nis Jensen



Project Engineer & Manager, Scantec

Nis is a Project Engineer and Project Manager with Scantec Refrigeration Technologies Pty. Ltd. in Brisbane, Australia. He has been responsible for the design and delivery of the majority of the fourteen low charge ammonia refrigeration systems installed by Scantec over the last five years. The most recent project was handed over in January 2018. With a total refrigeration capacity of 1100 kW servicing a refrigerated volume of 114,000 m³, this is the largest system of its kind delivered by Scantec in Australia to date.

Nis is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. The subject of his final year thesis was a theoretical comparison between refrigerants R134a and CO2 as applied in a commercial refrigerated distribution facility situated in a subtropical area. The project was undertaken in the lead up to Australia’s introduction of the now repealed carbon equivalent HFC levy in July 2012.

Tian Jian

Tian Jian is responsible for leading commercial refrigeration and transportation refrigeration R&D teams in Asia to develop new products, to support Asia and global product strategy. 
Tian Jian joined Carrier China Transicold Truck/Trailer product engineering group in 2007.
As the T/T product supervisor since 2009, he has held increasingly responsible position in product development and project management.

Before he joined Carrier, Tian Jian spent 11 years in Xi’an Jiaotong University and obtained Bachelor, Master and PhD degree in Refrigeration, Engineering Thermo physics.

Avipsa Mahapatra



Climate Campaign Lead, Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA)

Avipsa is the Climate Campaign Lead at EIA. During her five years in working on a global phase down of HFCs, Avipsa was instrumental in EIA’s international strategy formulation, overseeing technical and policy work and bringing a deep understanding of A5 concerns and relationships to the broader team. Avipsa joined EIA with over five years of climate policy management and implementation experience. She has previously worked for the World Resources Institute in developing a framework for emerging economies to initiate emissions reporting programs, and at Development Alternatives, a leading Indian research and action NGO, managing a carbon-reduction and environmental monitoring program via a large network of  diverse civil society organizations. She was an official member of the Indian delegation to UNFCCC COP 14, has also worked with the Earth Institute New York, WWF Norway, 350.org and PowerShift. She has graduate degrees from Columbia University in Climate Science and Public Policy and from the Energy and Resources Institute in India in Natural Resources Management, and held a research fellowship at Yale University in sustainable urban transport.

Ole Nielsen



Chief of the Montreal Protocol Division, UNIDO

Ole Nielson graduated from the Technical University of Copenhagen in 1988 as Mechanical Engineer specialized in Energetics and Refrigeration. He worked in the Danish refrigeration industry until 1996 and acted as an independent technical consultant on Montreal Protocol project formulation and implementation until 2003. Ole returned then to the private sector as sales manager for refrigeration equipment and in 2011 joined UNIDO as Chief of the Refrigeration and Aerosols Unit within the Montreal Protocol Branch. Ole has been involved in the Montreal Protocol since 1993.

Pedro Olalla

Pedro Olalla is a telecommunication engineer with a business degree from ESADE Business School in Barcelona. He has been working for Huayi Compressors Barcelona for almost 30 years where he has held several different positions in R&D and Sales areas. Since 2005, he's been responsible of sales and marketing with a global responsibility within the Huayi Group for the light commercial refrigeration market.

André Paz Rosa



R&D Senior Manager for Asia-Pacific, Embraco

André Paz Rosa has been working at Embraco since 2003. He has held several roles within the R&D department, where he was a research engineer, product development manager and R&D senior manager for Europe. His current responsibilities include product development and technical support for household and light commercial refrigeration in Asia-Pacific market. André is an electrical engineer and holds an M.Sc. in scientific metrology.

Graduated in 2006 in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan, he joined LU-VE Group in 2009, starting as an application engineer in the Sales Department.
In 2013 he became Area Sales Manager for Southeastern Europe in parallel with the activity of Product Manager for ventilated heat exchangers.
Since 2017 he has been in charge of the Marketing Department including product management.

Giacomo Pisano



Technical Sales Manager, Dorin

After obtaining his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2002, Giacomo Pisano worked for one year as a Project Manager for General Electric's Oil & Gas division, where the core business is turbomachinery applied to the oil & gas industry. He joined DORIN in 2003 in the R&D department, taking responsibility of the CO2 compressor development and being in charge of the product's technical qualification. Giacomo Pisano then took over several application engineering roles and is currently responsible for the CO2 compressors' business development. In the meantime he joined several ASERCOM working groups and was the Chairman for the association's CO2 working group for many years.

Lei Wang



Vice President, China Household Electrical Appliances Association (CHEAA)

During the period from 1992 to 2007, she devoted herself to ODS phase out in Chinese refrigeration and compressor industry. As one member of the Special Working Group, she participated in the implementation of the China CFCs phase-out plan in the Refrigeration Sector. In year 2009, she was invited to be the member of RAC refrigerant alternative evaluation expert group of MEP/FECO to select the HCFC-22 substitution in China RAC sector and participated in implementing the HPMPs for China RAC sector in the following years.. At the meantime, she also pays special attention to the global environmental issues and is enthusiasm for promoting the energy efficiency of the appliance products to reduce the CO2 emission.

Wenhua Wang



Director of Sustainability Consumption Promotion Department, China Chain Store & Franchise Association

Joined CCFA in 2002. She has been in charge of the Sustainability Department, since 2008, focusing on energy-saving of retail store, green procurement, and public education of sustainable consumption, etc. She also leads two platform based on CCFA memberships, one is CCFA retail energy-saving work group, the other is The China Retail Sustainable Roundtable, co- initiated by CCFA & WWF in 2013.
She also works in drafting and reviewing industrial standards and guidance documents in retail energy-saving practices, such as Standard of Evaluating Low-carbon and Energy-Saving Retail Stores etc.

Yinxue Wang

Yinxue Wang is a graduate of USTB with a major in Logistics Engineering and holds a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from SJTU. He has been mentored by leading professors Wu Qing (aka "the father of China logistics"), and professor Wang Zhuo (a well-known logistics expert in China.)

Mr. Wang is a comittee member of national logistics and storage equipment standardization committee(SAC/TC499 and the national committee for standardization of industrial vehicles(SAC/TC332. Mr. Wang is also a master tutor at the SJTU and a CILS (certified international logistics specialist) auditor.

Mr. Yinxue Wang has worked with several important logistics centers in the past, including Lenovo Beijing stereo logistics center; Digital China Shanghai distribution center; Sinopharm Group Co. Ltd. Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Shanxi, Anhui, Hubei logistics distribution center; LI-NING Jingmen logistics park.

ZHONG Zhifeng, graduated from Tsinghua University, holds a master degree of chemistry. In 2008, Zhong joined Foreign Economic Cooperation Office, Ministry of Environmental Protection, PRC. He then starts his career working in refrigerant sector. He is now generally responsible for the implementation of China Room Air Conditioner HPMP, Industry Commercial Refrigeration HPMP and Servicing HPMP.
