Yasuhiro Baba

Mr. Baba joined the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 1996. He was in charge of climate change policy, waste management, environmental impact assessment and decontamination of radioactive materials. Mr. Baba currently works at the Japanese Ministry of the Environment. He holds the position of the Director of the Office of Fluorocarbons Control Policy at the Climate Change Policy Division in the Global Environment Bureau.

Marc Chasserot

Marc Chasserot is a specialist in natural refrigeration with over 15 years of experience in the HVAC&R sector, starting as the Marketing Manager for the Norsk Hydro business unit specialised in CO₂ transcritical refrigeration and heating. He worked closely with several Japanese manufacturers selling the market innovative "CO₂ Ecocute heatpumps".

In 2006 Marc founded the industry leading website for CO₂ cooling and heating experts worldwide, called www.R744.com. This was followed by three additional industry resources for hydrocarbons, water and ammonia (namely: www.hydrocarbons21.com, www.R718.com and www.ammonia21.com).

Marc is co-founder and CEO of shecco, an independent market development company specialised in bringing Natural Refrigerants 'faster to market', working with numerous companies worldwide. Marc has chaired and organised several international workshops bringing together leading policy and industry experts to discuss 'how to bring natural refrigerants' faster to market, known as 'ATMOsphere'. He is also an active member of ASHRAE.

Rolf Christensen

Dr. Rolf Christensen holds a M.Sc. in Heat and Power Engineering and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Lund Institute of Technology. He also holds an Executive Master in Technology Management from Chalmers University. His professional experience includes three years as an Engineer in the merchant marines and over five years as a Consultant for heat and power plant engineering & energy conservation. For six years, Dr. Christensen also held a position as an Associate Professor in heat and power plant engineering at the Lund Institute of Technology. 

Dr. Christensen has been with Alfa Laval since 1998 and has worked in various specialist and management positions, such as Manager for the heat & mass transfer department, testing laboratory, new concept development and concept portfolio management. He has also held a position as a Business Development Manager for refrigeration and Product Portfolio Manager for industrial refrigeration. He has been driving the development of plate heat exchangers for transcritical CO₂ as well as plate heat exchangers for ammonia heat pumps and evaporation.

Jan Dusek

Jan holds a Doctor of Engineering degree in System Design from Hosei University in Tokyo and a Master’s degree from the Czech Technical University in Prague. During his studies, and research undertaken in the USA, Europe and Japan, Jan has centered his academic focus on environmental technologies and marketing strategies. Having lived in Japan for over 8 years, Jan communicates fluently in Japanese and has a rich experience cooperating with Japanese industry. Jan is currently based in Tokyo, responsible for business development activities and monitoring Asian markets on behalf of shecco Japan.

Ignacio Gavilan

In his role Ignacio leads the CGF’s Environmental Sustainability team that aims to position the consumer goods industry as a leader in protecting against climate change and reducing waste. The CGF has a unique Sustainability Steering Committee comprised of leading retailers and manufacturers in addition to a number of Working Groups that drive forward the CGF’s sustainability agenda on topics such as Refrigeration, Food Waste, Circular Economy and the procurement of deforestation-free commodities.Prior to his current role, Ignacio worked as Founder & Principal Consultant at Accipiter, a sustainability advisory service where he helped SMEs working in international markets to create strategic sustainability roadmaps. He also brings experience from 15+ years working for large corporations such as McDonald's, British Petroleum (renewable energy) and the mining company Anglo American.

Peter Michael Hansen

Peter holds a university degree in thermal and mechanical engineering. He has more than 20 years’ experience in Refrigeration Compressor and System Optimization. His background in the compressor industry comes from more than 15 years at Danfoss Compressors and 7 years at Secop. Currently, Peter is global responsible for all Secop technical market support.

Katsuhiko Harada

Mr. Harada is the president of Nihon Netsugen Systems; manufacturer of chillers and heat pump systems partnering with GEA Refrigeration Technology in Germany. Mr. Harada takes leadership in introducing European CO₂ supermarket cooling systems to Japan. In addition, Nihon Netsugen Systems manufactures natural refrigerant products like ammonia and propane chiller systems.
Mr. Harada holds Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Keio University, and Master of Arts in Economics from New York University. Prior to his current carrier, he worked as a journalist for the political division of NHK – Public TV Japan.

Kazutoshi Ito

Mr. Ito joined Mayekawa Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in 1995 and belonged to the Institute of Technology. At the Technical Research Institute, he engaged in the development of a heat pump and a system for effective utilization of heat. Currently, I am engaged in designing a heat utilization system using a heat pump at the Tohoku branch.

Haruko Kanamaru

Since September 2013, Haruko Kanamaru has been the head of the Environment and Social Responsibility Department (Corporate Citizenship Department) for the AEON Group. Kanamaru's previous work experience includes serving as the head of the AEON Management Talent Development Committee Office in 2012 and as the head of Customer service for AEON, as well as the head of the AEON Retail Customer Service Department in 2011.

Shigekatsu Koganemaru

Shigekatsu KoganemaruPresident of Yoshio Ice Manufacturing and Refrigeration One of board membersof Japan Association of Refrigerated Warehouses; he lectures at technicalseminars of the association for cold warehouses owners or engineers.

Hiroaki Kuroishi

Mr.Kuroishi is responsible for CO2 project in the company for both design andengineering systems. Mr. Kuroishi holds Bachelor and Master of engineering from Tottori National University.

Akito Machida

Akito Machida graduated from Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Chiba Institute of Technology, Japan. He joined to Mayekawa in 1985 and has developed an air cycle refrigerator, a turbo Brayton cycle refrigerator and a helium refrigerator and the high temperature heat pumps. Currently, he is a director of Mayekawa Mfg. Co., Ltd, and Head of Research and Development Center since 2014.

Andreas Meier

Andreas Meier has several years of experience in management functions within the refrigeration sector. He has been a member of TEKO's management since August 2015. He was previously President of Sales D / A / CH at GEA Refrigeration Technologies, based in Berlin - Germany, and before that he was the Head of Marketing and Product Management at GEA Küba GmbH.

He also worked in Zug - Switzerland, as Sales & Marketing Manager at a Japanese manufacturer for industrial refrigeration.

Satoshi Niwa

Satoshi Niwa joined Food Techno Engineering Co., Ltd. in 2013. He is engaged in planning and plant designing of refrigeration / freezing / low temperature air conditioning of food factory. Also, from 2016, he is working on the practical application of water cooled CO 2 refrigerator equipped with exhaust heat recovery toward introduction of CO 2 refrigerator to food factory.

Kenji Noda

Kenji Noda founded Food Techno Engineering Co., Ltd. on August 2, 1999. Considering the quality and safety of foods as a top priority, engineering that realizes with high technical capacity is continued business by many customers. In January 2017, we opened the FTE Academy with the concept of global environment and energy. Here, we are working on the development of CO2 refrigerator which is natural refrigerant. For the future of cold energy technology, we will continue to develop new technologies.

Kazuma Ohtani

Kazuma Ohtani joined the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 2008 and holds a position as the Deputy Director of the Fluoride Gases Management Office in the Manufacturing Industries Bureau since July in 2017. He was in charge of economic cooperation, environmental measure, information security and reconstruction support for Fukushima-prefecture.

Tetsuji Okada

Mr. Okada is the President of the Japanese Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (JRAIA). JRAIA represents all of the major manufacturers of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment in Japan. Prior to being the President of the JRAIA, Mr. Okada worked on the technical design of air conditioning equipment at Mitsubishi, where he had a distinguished career, including responsibility for Mitsubishi in Europe.

Mark Sever

Mark Sever is an experienced refrigeration engineer working on solutions for sustainable cooling in food retail systems and industrial refrigeration applications for over 20 years. He has been particularly focused on implementing CO₂ refrigeration solutions in food retail sector for the past 10 years. 

Since joining Danfoss in 1998, Mark has held several management positions covering Eastern Europe, Russia and Turkey, helped improve colleagues' and customers' technical knowledge and involved in product development and market introduction of ADAP-KOOL® components/solutions.

Mark holds a M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb Croatia.

Yuta Shioya

Mr. Shioya studies for new method and new machine of soil improvement. He has been a core member of researches and developments for an application of natural refrigerants to construction industry. He jointed Chemical Grouting, Co., Ltd.in 2012.

Shinichiro Uto

Mr. Uto is in charge of the Store Development Division within Lawson, a Japanese leader in CO2 transcritical refrigeration systems installed in convenience stores (CVS). Mr. Uto's role encompasses the construction planning and promotion of Lawson's stores featuring the latest environmental technologies. Besides a specialty in CO2 refrigeration systems, Mr. Uto also carries out other energy saving measures in Japan and overseas.

Marek Zgliczynski

Marek Zgliczynski studied at the Turin Politechnic in Italy where he earned his degree in mechanical engineering. In 1979, after completing his degree, Marek began his career as a researcher and project leader of new product development at Aspera Spa. 

A few years later, Marek transitioned to Embraco, becoming the Manager of Compressor Design. His successful efforts led to many promotions, including European Commercial Product and Technology Manager, Commercial Refrigeration Product Corporate Director and Corporate Fellow Researcher for the Commercial Refrigeration Segment. 

His main responsibility includes the development of household and light commercial refrigeration products. He also provides technical assistance to the sales team in order to promote Embraco products that align with customer feedback. 

Throughout his career, Marek has earned three U.S. patents and Gold Whirlpool Quality Team Award and he has published several pieces of literature for international conferences and events about refrigeration technology. In 2016, he was elected to a Chair of the IEC/SC61C Committee, in charge of the development of international product safety standards for refrigeration segment. He is also member in several other standardization bodies like ISO TC86/SC1/WG1, CEN TC182WG6 and WG12, IEC SC61DWG16 and UL STP471, Ashrae Member.
