Joseph joined Emerson in 2007 as Application Engineer and has progressed with diverse roles and responsibilities including Refrigeration Sales and Cold Chain Marketing for Southeast Asia since then. Joseph was appointed to his current role as Senior Business Manager, Cold Chain, Southeast Asia in 2016 with his strong technical skills, sales experience and marketing knowledge in Cold Chain market. He is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand. Joseph holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New South Wales, Australia.

Alvaro de Oña

Alvaro is a shareholder and co-founder of shecco as an independent entity. He was instrumental in the early success of shecco’s communication platforms (R744.com, hydrocarbons21.com, ammonia21.com) and market research services. With a background in social sciences and international relations, he has spent the last six years working at the European Commission as an Human Resources expert, overseeing several change projects and helping to set up two new Agencies of the EU from scratch. As of March 2016, Alvaro is back at shecco to help its further international development and lead the media team in its efforts to share relevant stories, news and updates on the global transition towards natural refrigerants.

Jan Dusek

Jan holds a Doctor of Engineering degree in System Design from Hosei University in Tokyo and a Master’s degree from the Czech Technical University in Prague. During his studies, and research undertaken in the USA, Europe and Japan, Jan has centered his academic focus on environmental technologies and marketing strategies. Having lived in Japan for over 8 years, Jan communicates fluently in Japanese and has a rich experience cooperating with Japanese industry. Jan is currently based in Tokyo, responsible for business development activities and monitoring Asian markets on behalf of shecco Japan.

Wynand Groenewald

Wynand Groenewald holds a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and has dedicated his career to eliminating greenhouse gasses one project at a time. With more than 10 years experience with natural refrigerants he joined Sphere as Chief Technology Officer where he is still confused why people would prefer to use chemical refrigerants as a solution. His hopes to see a sustainable planet gets him up every morning to push the limits of technology that could make this dream come true so that he can continue his favourite hobby, spending time with his family in nature.

Stefan Jensen



Managing Director, Scantec Refrigeration Technologies

Stefan Jensen graduated in 1978 in Denmark with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. His professional career commenced in 1978 with Danfoss in Denmark followed by two years at SABROE Refrigeration A/S also in Denmark as a Project Engineer. In 1983, he joined Wildridge & Sinclair in Brisbane, Australia, as Technical Manager in Industrial Refrigeration. He later became co-inventor of the Rotadisk flake ice maker. In 1988 he joined the food machinery manufacturer Heat and Control Pty. Ltd. and was in 1992 appointed General Manager of the Heat and Control Refrigeration Division.

In April 1996, Stefan co-founded Scantec Refrigeration Technologies. He currently holds the position of Managing Director. Stefan is a Fellow of AIRAH and an Engineers Australia Fellow. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Queensland and also included in the National Engineering Register. He has authored over 40 technical papers for AIRAH, IIR and IIAR conferences, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) in Washington, USA.

Stefan is a member of the scientific committee for the 8th International Ammonia and CO2 Refrigeration Technologies conference to be held in Ohrid, Macedonia in April, 2019.

With the globally growing demand in natural technology solutions, Lydia is responsible for shecco’s event management around the world, including all ATMOsphere conferences and events.

He has been a member of TEKO's management since August 2015. He was previously President of Sales D / A / CH at GEA Refrigeration Technologies, based in Berlin - Germany, and before that he was the Head of Marketing and Product Management at GEA Küba GmbH.

He also worked in Zug - Switzerland, as Sales & Marketing Manager at a Japanese manufacturer for industrial refrigeration.

Philipp Munzinger is a project manager with the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) PROKLIMA. He manages various projects in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector with the focus on natural refrigerants and energy efficiency. Munzinger specializes on climate and energy policy and economics, technology transfer and builds on in-depth experience in advising Asian government bodies. He holds a BSc. in Environmental Economics and Business Management and a MSc. in Environmental Sciences.

André Paz Rosa



R&D Senior Manager for Asia-Pacific, Embraco

André Paz Rosa has been working at Embraco since 2003. He has held several roles within the R&D department, where he was a research engineer, product development manager and R&D senior manager for Europe. His current responsibilities include product development and technical support for household and light commercial refrigeration in Asia-Pacific market. André is an electrical engineer and holds an M.Sc. in scientific metrology.

Currently, Hamzah is the Solution Design Director of Kiat Ananda Cold Storage; a company offering total supply chain solutions. Kiat Ananda is the biggest cold storage company in Indonesia and operates 5 warehouses in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali with total capacity of 100.000 pallet positions.

Inderpal (Indy) Saund

Indy has worked in the refrigeration & air conditioning industry for the past 23 years, mainly around natural refrigerants within the commercial and industrial refrigeration sector.

Over the past 14 years, he has been involved in a number of CO2 projects within APAC and running training programs across the region to promote the use of CO2.

Having recently joined Beijer Ref, Indy is tasked with further promoting the use of natural refrigerant solutions and products across the Asia-Pacific Region.

Currently, Ray is the Chief Executive Officer of Kiat Ananda Cold Storage; a company offering total supply chain solutions. Kiat Ananda is the biggest cold storage company in Indonesia and operates 5 warehouses in Jakarta, Surabaya and Bali with total capacity of 100.000 pallet positions.

Barokah Sri Utami (Emmy) was appointed as the President Director of PT Phapros, Tbk in 2016, which is a public pharmaceutical company (hasn't been listed yet) manufacturing health products and medical devices. The majority share of PT Phapros Tbk is owned by PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia, a state-owned enterprise in Indonesia.

Emmy earned her bachelor and professional degree in pharmacy from Bandung Institut of Technology and her master degree in Management Studies from Diponegoro University, Semarang in 2004. Prior to her appointment as a President Director, she had held various core functions in pharmaceutical industries such as quality assurance and quality control, production planning and inventory control, business & product development, production, HR & GA.

Under her leadership, Phapros has gained the greatest achievement in its history, particularly in its financial sector with revenue up to USD 75 billion and net profit up to USD 9.3 million. PT Phapros Tbk also grew in 2017 with around 23% by revenue, while Total Indonesia Pharma Industry only grew 6.7% in the same year.

Klaas Visser has an extensive international experience in the design, building and trouble shooting of medium to large ammonia systems with involvement in more than 800 NH3 projects during the past 45 years.

The world’s first Multi Function 2 Stage Transcritical CO2 Refrigerating System with Parallel Compression (MF2STCCO2RSPC) has now been operating seven years, performing six cooling and nine heating functions at a small food processing plant.
Commissioning of the second MR2STCC02RSPC system near Sydney has been delayed. It is the first CO2 system in the world employing an evaporative condenser/gas cooler (ECGC). 
A case study comparing ECGCs and Adiabatically Assisted Air Cooled CO2 Gas Coolers in terms of their Energy and Water Consumption and the COP Improvement of the refrigeration systems at ambient Wet Bulb Temperatures up to 28 degrees C – not exceeded in 98% of the World’s climates - achieving 31 degrees C Gas Cooler Exit Temperature.   
The design of a MF2STCC02RSPC with an ECGC for a −30°C 40,000 cubic metre cold store near Kuala Lumpur is complete and waiting for building approval.

Amy Charlene Wong is a senior environmental control officer in Department of Environment Malaysia. She joined the Department in 2009, focusing on training and capacity building in Environmental Impact Assessment. Subsequently, she joined the Air Division in the Department and in charged on the climate change policy development. Currently, she is assigned in the Ozone Protection Unit which focused on the policy and implementation on Montreal Protocol.
