While the benefits of transrictial CO2 systems are well accepted by several supermarket chains, Marc-André Lesmerises, President of Carnot Refrigeration, in his presentation looks at other types of applications that could benefit from CO2 technology. The focus of the presentation is a retrofit project by Carnot Refrigeration during which a new CO2 refrigeration system in a complex of 3 Ice Rinks was installed. Mr Lesmerises concludes that the Ice Rink projects are actually at parity with HFC technologies when the heat reclaim capability is included in the initial costs.
