In his introduction to the industrial end user panel discussion, Eric Smith provided an overview of the activities of the Internation Institute of Ammonia (IIAR), which provides advocacy, education, standards and information for the benefit of the ammonia refrigeration industry.

Eric Smith

 

Eric Smith is the Vice President and the Technical Director for IIAR.  He manages the development of IIAR standards, research projects, safety and compliance publications, and technical program development.  He is also involved with advocacy, outreach, education, and member services.  Eric was a refrigeration designer for 18 years, and was a service technician for several years prior to that.  Eric is a registered professional engineer in over 30 states and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
