Jeffrey Gingras from Systemes LMP starts his presentation by providing a SWOT analysis of the market for CO2 technology. Gringras analyses the evolution of the use of both CO2 transcritical and CO2 cascade stores, also looking at prices compared to R404 and R22. Systemes LMP has a long track record of working with CO2, having developed their first CO2 cascade system in 2009 and their first transcritical system in 2013.

Jeffrey Gingras, Vice president of Systemes LMP, has been involved in finding environmentally friendly solutions for supermarkets and warehouses since 1998. Through his understanding of the market trends in the refrigeration industry, Jeffrey aligned Systemes LMP in a more sustainable and environmentally conscious refrigeration product development. In 2000, the company introduced its first pumping station with a fluid cooler and heat reclaim in a Sobeys supermarket. It was the company’s first experience trying to reduce the quantity of HCFC in a refrigeration system, as it was clear within the industry that the step towards such new technologies was inevitable.

Jeff was also involved with Systemes LMP's introduction of it`s solution for medium temperature using ice slurry in 2002, a system, ideal for retrofit installations, using latent heat to extract energy in the evaporators from the air. He also played a role in Systemes LMP’s decision to build its own testing facility to develop a solution for low temperature applications. Here, solutions for various applications using cascade, subcritical & transcritical CO2 were developed. Jeff is proud to say that Systemes LMP has developed one of the most energy efficient transcritical solutions on the market, with the flexibility for installation in most climates and energy efficiency due to its lubrication technology & mechanical subcooling.
