ATMOsphere America 2014 - THE BUSINESS CASE FOR NATURAL REFRIGERANTS IN NORTH AMERICA, 3rd annual

The meeting place for industry experts to discuss natural refrigerant trends, the latest technologies and regulatory issues in North America is back for its third edition! Taking place for the first time in San Francisco on June 18-19, 2014, this event targets around 250 decision makers including leading retailers, industrial end users, component and system suppliers, training institutes, associations and more.

Presentation topics will focus on regulation, standards and utilities, as well as on commercial and industrial refrigeration applications with input from key government representatives, end users (retailers, consumer brands, cold storage) as well as technology providers.

New features for the 2014 edition include more networking opportunities, optional site visits and several new technology case study sessions on heat pumps and HVAC.

9 January 2015 | Naturals Get New Push at Atmosphere AmericaWhile the regulatory landscape in North America continues to embrace the naturals, it was only natural that an Atmosphere America International Workshop was held for a third year. In 2014 it took place in San Francisco. Again, the annual event was postured as “a business case for natural refrigerants” arguing that regardless of how governmental regulations play out, there is a favorable cost aspect regarding natural refrigerants that decision makers should consider when purchasing new HVACR equipment.

Industry experts in the use of CO2 as a refrigerant in commercial and transport refrigeration and heat pumps discussed the current state of play and future trends. Whilst numbers of CO2 cascade and transcritical refrigeration installations continue to rise in both the US and Canada, expected to reach 600,000 globally by 2018, North American CO2 heat pump water heater tests have shown an Energy Factor (EF) of 3.35 compared to 2.4 EF of an HFC system.
