James Taeckens is a senior product manager for Carrier Transicold Container Products Group, an industry leader providing customers around the world with the most advanced, energy efficient and environmentally sustainable container refrigeration systems and generator sets. Carrier Transicold is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp., a leading provider to the aerospace and building systems industries worldwide. (NYSE:UTX).

Based in Syracuse, N.Y. since 2005, Mr. Taeckens is involved in product development, including the introduction of the NaturaLINE™ unit, the world’s first and only container refrigeration system to use the natural refrigerant carbon dioxide (CO2) with a global warming potential (GWP) of one. Mr. Taeckens is also responsible for the advancement of the new XtendFRESH™ container atmosphere control system, which uses innovative technologies to remove ethylene while actively controlling oxygen (O2) and CO2 levels, distinguishing it from other container atmosphere control products on the market today.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Taeckens was responsible for identifying and launching new products for the Aftermarket division at Visteon Corporation of Dearborn, Mich. In addition, he spent several years at Ford Motor Company and AT&T Istel LTD. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
