About the technology
EcoThermics technology applies high-pressure axial piston hydraulic pump technology to compressors for transcritical CO2 heat pumps up to 2000 psi, a pressure roughly 5 times greater than traditional heat pumps.
In commercial applications, heat pumps can provide cheaper water heating than gas heating; furthermore, by utilizing a CO2 heat pump important requirements can be met such as: increased hot water production, as well as the need for air conditioning and dehumidification in food production and packaging areas. The technology provides energy savings without contributing to adverse affects on the environment.
Initially, EcoThermics focused on applications for commercial water heating and cooling. Today, the company’s 30hp semi-hermetic compressor is now in development for large dedicated heat-recovery systems as well.
