CAREL Industries, a leading company specialised in control solutions for air-conditioning, refrigeration and heating, as well as systems for humidification and evaporative cooling, has announced its Silver Sponsorship of the 3rd edition of ATMOsphere Asia, which will be held on 9 & 10 February 2016 in Tokyo, Japan.

Founded in the region of Padova, Italy, in 1973, Carel Industries has become a global reference point in refrigeration, air conditioning and humidification controls for the HVAC&R industry, in particular the retail market. Today, CAREL offers solutions and control systems in over 75 countries and has 18 subsidiaries and 6 production facilities worldwide.

CAREL’s BLDC water loop systems in commercial refrigeration: the new frontier for natural refrigerants

R&D is at the heart of CAREL’s commitment to grow. Its products are designed to bring energy savings, improve efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of machinery and systems in commercial, industrial and residential applications.

CAREL has recently introduced a new highlight for commercial refrigeration solutions, adding the benefits of natural refrigerants to the BLDC water loop. It has pioneered the research and testing using propane and CO2.

The water loop system is a simple system in which each cabinet has its own small refrigeration system (self-contained) with a dedicated modulating compressor. Unlike conventional systems, which commonly use the standard AC compressor, the cabinets contain water condensers on-board (no copper pipes, no compressor racks) and receive around 1-2kg of refrigerant charge.

The system provides flexibility, allowing stores to change their layouts and the position of their cabinets. It can also achieve up to 96% refrigerant leakage reduction and a 25% energy saving for plug-ins.

E3V-C high-pressure valve solution for C-stores

Other highlights include the E3V-C high-pressure valves, completing CAREL’s range of electronic expansion valves for high-pressure transcritical CO2 applications in convenience stores. These units provide a proportional stepper valve with a large cooling capacity of 250kW, perfect for supermarkets or higher energy applications.
