Oliver Javerschek, Project Manager at Bitzer, presented real data about an experimental and empirical study of a second generation CO₂ booster system in an Asian climate. He provided a comparison of an optimised R404A / R404A system, an optimised hybrid system R134a / CO₂ cascade and a CO₂ booster system. In the chosen Asian climate, the optimised hybrid system with R134a and CO₂ showed the best annual efficiencies; however, applying a 3rd generation CO₂ booster system could shift the results in favor of the CO₂ booster system.

Oliver Javerschek joined BITZER in 2001 and now holds the position of a Project Manager. He is in charge of various projects in the field of CO₂ applications. He wrote his diploma thesis at Sintef Energy Research in Trondheim. Since 2008 he has published several papers at various conferences and for different journals.
