ATMOsphere Asia 2014 – Technology & Innovation: Having always been a pioneering advocate in the field of natural refrigerants, Japan is the ideal location for the first-ever ATMOsphere Asia Conference. This conference aims to support the uptake of leading natural refrigerant technologies from all over Asia by global markets and bring international suppliers to Asia. ATMOsphere Asia serves as a forum for exchanges between leading end-users, suppliers, academics and government representatives.

The conference will feature a unique methodology providing attendees with the opportunity to network through: individual business meetings, receptions, targeted discussions featuring an interactive polling method, and visits to supplier plants and/or end-user facilities using natural refrigerants.

18 February 2014 | Japanese R718 innovations to make a splash on the marketProfessor Kiyoshi Saito, Waseda University, introduced some of the latest R718 technology advances in Japan including centrifugal chillers, absorption chillers and absorption heat tranformers, at the first-ever ATMOsphere Asia 2014 conference in Tokyo, Japan. Also presented was Kawasaki’s new solar air-conditioning system using a single-double effect combined absorption chiller and Mayekawa’s “Adref Noa” adsorption chiller.

10 February 2014 | 10-21% energy savings achieved with CO2 transcritical systems in subtropical OkinawaAt the ATMOsphere Asia 2014 conference on natural refrigerants held in Tokyo, Japan, on 3-5 February, it was demonstrated by system manufacturer Panasonic and Japanese retailer Lawson that energy savings between 10-21% are achieved for a CO2 transcritical system in the subtropical climate of Okinawa, Japan. In early 2014, Indonesia will see the opening of the first pilot CO2 transcritical store by Lawson as well as an installation of Mayekawa’s NH3/CO2 NewTon in a cold store.
