Only three weeks to go to Atmosphere 2009, the conference on natural refrigerants. To make the event a truly global one, the organisers have sent out a survey to National Experts and industry in developing countries to find out what are the major information needs regarding natural refrigerants. Questions will be forwarded to experts meeting in Brussels on 19-20 October.

Atmosphere 2009, the conference on the natural refrigerants ammonia, carbon dioxide, and hydrocarbons, will be held on 19-20 October in Brussels. Over the last weeks an overwhelming amount of statements regarding the high potential and advantages of natural refrigerants have been sent to the organisers, both from developed and developing countries. Moreover, messages expressing high interest from emerging economies’ national experts to attend the event, reached Atmosphere 2009.

Call for questions

To find out which means could help developing countries to be better informed about the use and potential of natural refrigerants, Atmosphere 2009 put together a short survey with questions about the viability of natural working fluids in these countries, and about communication channels needed to spread the word. The questions are directed at national experts and industry representatives from developing countries only.

Most importantly, the survey leaves enough space to ask up to four questions that will be selected and forwarded to the 30 high-level speakers meeting at Atmosphere 2009. Spanning international organisations (UNEP, the European Commission, TEAP, the World Bank), NGOs, and industry experts, conference delegates and speakers will be confronted with some of these questions during the panel discussions. Results will then be shared with the organisations and individuals submitting the questions.
