Founded in 1918 in Florence, Italy, Dorin began producing open compressors for refrigeration systems in 1932. In 1957, the company started to manufacture semi-hermetic compressors as well. Today, Dorin produces more than 70,000 compressors per year, and its product portfolio includes 600 models of open type and semi-hermetic compressors ranging from 0.4 to 150 HP and condensing units suitable for CO₂ or hydrocarbon refrigerants.

Dorin is committed to offering high reliability, efficiency and technology innovation in its products and emphasizes these standards in the design of its CO₂ compressors. 

One of its latest developments is the CD500, a 6-cylinder model for transcritical CO₂ commercial refrigeration, the largest compressor in the CD range. This unit has one of the widest displacements on the market, from 39,8 to 53,2m3/h, a design pressure of 100 bar (LP) and 150 bar (HP) and nominal power from 50 to 80 HP.

For cascade and booster systems, Dorin has its CDS series, which features one of the highest standstill pressures for CO₂ subcritical compressors worldwide. The CDS series was recently extended with CDSI series, which operates from 20 to 70 Hz.
