The organising committee is pleased to announce Italian hydrocarbon manufacturer Settala Gas as a bronze sponsor for UNIDO ATMOsphere taking place on June 3-4, 2013 in Vienna, Austria. Settala Gas produces hydrocarbon refrigerants with a minimum purity of 99.5% for commercial, industrial and domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, as direct replacements to synthetic refrigerants.

Since its founding in 1966 by Giovanni Nava, Settala Gas has anticipated the ban of CFCs and made it their mission to replace polluting gasses. The company focuses on the development of its pure hydrocarbon range of R290 (propane) and R600a (isobutane) branded as PURIFRIGOR, an ecological substitute for CFC, HCFC and HFCs widely used today by manufacturer of domestic and industrial refrigerators.

Their brand of environmentally friendly hydrocarbon propellants branded as PURIFAIR (made of a blend of N-butane, isobutane and propane) is applicable to the cosmetics industry or as foam agents in food packaging. These products do not pollute groundwater, contribute to acid rain and have negligible GWP and zero ODP.

UNIDO ATMOsphere Technology Summit – Natural Solutions for Developing Countries

UNIDO ATMOsphere will take place from 3-4 June 2013 at the UNIDO headquarters the VIC International Centre in Vienna, Austria. This HVAC&R (and foam) industry event focuses on natural refrigerants (CO₂, ammonia, hydrocarbons, water and air) as viable options for developing countries looking to phase-out HCFCs under the Montreal Protocol. The conference will examine the cost of implementation, barriers and incentives regarding safety and training, as well as opportunities and challenges faced when introducing natural substances.
