Rolf Christensen - Ammonia heat pump optimization at high temperature water heating

PDF document
published on 10 February 2016

Rolf Christensen highlighted the opportunity to increase efficiency for high-temperature ammonia heat pumps where a relatively large temperature rise on the water side exists. Testing results show that by using precise concepts, it is possible not only to lower the system’s condensing temperature, but also to reach outlet temperatures higher than the condensation temperature, while still recovering much more heat than is available solely from desuperheating.

Bjorn Felgenhauer - Results of heat exchangers operated in hard water conditions for CO2 heat pumps

PDF document
published on 10 February 2016

SWEP’s Björn Felgenhauer presented test results of a heat exchanger that protects the system from scaling while operating in hard water conditions both with and without a passive back flush valve. Felgenhauer combined this with presenting a CO2 tap water heat pump with a passive back flush principle, showcased for real-life conditions.
