Mayekawa Manufacturing company, a worldwide leading supplier of industrial heating, cooling and freezing systems using the “natural five” refrigerants (CO₂, NH₃, hydrocarbons, water and air), has announced its Gold Sponsorship of ATMOsphere Europe 2013.

The Japanese manufacturer Mayekawa offers a vast range of energy-saving systems and environmentally sustainable solutions for the industrial heating and cooling industry. Since its founding in 1924, the company has grown to become one of the world’s largest industrial refrigeration companies. Currently, there are over 25,000 MYCOM compressors running in over 100 countries.

Using the “natural five”

Environmental sustainability is the focus of Mayekawa’s commercial activities. The company provides innovative solutions using the “natural five” refrigerants for a number of different applications and products:

• Ammonia – Hybrid NH₃/CO₂ technology is used in Mayekawa’s highly efficient systems in a range of temperature applications such as cooling systems for ice rinks and compressors for freezer applications.
• CO₂ – Mayekawa’s CO2 refrigerant applications include not only chilling and refrigeration systems, but also heat pump systems using MYCOM CO₂ compressors for heating, hot water supply and drying.
• Hydrocarbons – Mayekawa produces hydrocarbon heat pumps for air conditioning and hot water supply systems for centralised air heating and cooling systems.
• Air – Using air, Mayekawa’s freezing system can be applied to conventional applications including super-low temperature cold storage and freeze-drying systems. The technology can also be used for home appliances recycling plants (freeze-crushing), semiconductor production processes, medial, pharmaceutical, physics and chemistry applications.
• Water – Mayekawa’s adsorption chillers can be used to chill water for air conditioning using solar energy as the heat source, or to produce chilled water from industrial-process-waste-heat to reduce energy consumption.
