Dong Gyu Kim presented the Pascal Air refrigeration system for low temperature warehouses installed at Sea Sky Global’s state-of-the-art tuna processing plant located in Busan, South Korea. There are three Mayekawa Pascal Air units installed to keep the company’s 2,500 tonnes of raw tuna and processed products fresh, at ultra-low storage temperatures.

Yuji Nakajima of Kobeya Baking Company shared the energy efficiency results of a converted R22 refrigeration system, which was replaced with a Mayekawa NewTon F600 NH3/CO2 solution. In addition, he discussed the company’s four main energy reduction initiatives implemented at the 7,034m2 frozen dough production facility, located in the Kanto area in Japan.

Juergen Brenneis of Red Bull, a member of the Refrigerants Naturally! initiative along with The Coca-Cola Company, Unilever and Pepsico, presented the network's achievements in placing 3,5 million HFC-free refrigeration units collectively on the market, thus avoiding more than 1.2 million tonnes of CO2eq (based on the avoided HFC refrigerant emissions).

In his presentation, Nobuya Ishitsuka, engineer for the NewTon Production Division, discussed case studies showcasing how the “Pascal Air”, a refrigeration system developed by Mayekawa using air as the working fluid, has been applied in cold warehouses, food freezing and the pharmaceutical industry.
