Marek Zgliczynski - Low global warming alternatives for ultralow cascade applications

PDF document
published on 17 March 2015

In his presentation, Embraco’s Marek Zglizynski highlighted the company’s use of hydrocarbons for ultralow temperature cascades applications. Used mainly in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, specifically for lab purposes, the systems must operate in temperatures of -70°C to -90°C. Zglizynski also highlighted Embraco’s special compressor series for ultralow cascade systems (R170), with a special valve design and optimised torque electric motor.

Christian Heerup - CDUs with CO2 seen in the light of the EU F-Gas and ECO design directives

PDF document
published on 17 March 2015

Christian Heerup of the Danish Technological Institute explained the application of condensing units using CO2 in response to F-Gas and ECO design directives. He said F-Gas regulations targeting small commercial systems were having an impact but that with the successful adoption of CO2 now in supermarkets, scaling down systems sizes and reducing costs are now a necessity.
